Welcome Credit

$100 sign up credit applied over 12 months

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy's $100 (inclusive of GST) online sign up credit offer, applied over 12 months (Welcome Credit).

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Welcome Credit:

  • (a) you must sign up to one of our electricity market plans for your premises, via switch.ovoenergy.com.au or any other participating third party from 19th September 2023 to 31st January 2024 inclusive;

  • (b) your premises must be in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia or Queensland where OVO operates;

  • (c) the contract must be your first electricity market contract for your premises;

  • (d) to receive the full $100 credit you must continue your contract for your premises for at least 12 months from when we start supplying electricity to you (minimum contract period).

  • 3. When will we pay you the Welcome Credit?

Unless your contract ends early, we will credit you $100 (inclusive of GST) applied in twelve monthly instalments of $8.34 as an offset against the charges on each of your monthly bills issued during the minimum contract period.

If your contract ends before the end of the minimum contract period, we will not pay you, and you will forfeit, any remaining credit balance of the $100 Welcome Credit.

  • 4. Offer exclusions

The Welcome Credit offer:

  • (a) is not valid or available for OVO Energy gas market offers or in conjunction with any other OVO Energy special offers, promotions, vouchers or competitions;

  • (b) can only be used as a credit to your OVO Energy account and cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash; and

  • (c) is not transferable to any other customer or to any other premises.

  • 5. Variation or withdrawal of the Welcome Credit

We may change or withdraw the terms applying to Welcome Credit by notice to you in accordance with applicable energy laws. We reserve the right to withdraw this offer at and time.

The One Plan & The Basic Plan

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy’s The One Plan and The Basic Plan.

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

The One Plan and The Basic Plan are available to residential customers in NSW, QLD, SA and VIC, wherever OVO Energy operates.

  • 3. The One Plan Billing Requirements

The One Plan requires that you pay for the electricity you use monthly in advance on a Bill Smoothing arrangement. Your Bill Smoothing arrangement will be set in accordance with your contract with us.

  • 4. The Basic Plan Billing Requirements

The Basic Plan is billed in arrears. You will be issued a bill monthly for the energy that you have used, payment must be made by the due date on your bill.

The Solar Plan & The Basic Solar Plan

High feed in tariff Solar Plans

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy's The Solar Plan and The Basic Solar Plan.

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

The Solar Plan and The Basic Solar Plan are available to residential customers who have a domestic solar photovoltaic (PV) system at their premises only.

If your Market Retail Contract is terminated because you are not eligible for The Solar Plan or The Basic Solar Plan you will be moved to our Standard Retail Contract

  • 3. The Solar Plan and The Basic Solar Plan rates and charges

The Solar Plan and The Basic Solar Plan are available as a part of an ongoing market contract with variable rates and charges.

The following feed-in tariffs apply to The Solar Plan and The Basic Solar Plan:

  • If the premises are located in Victoria, we will pay $0.12/kWh of electricity generation exported for the first 4,000 kWh exported per year. Any additional solar exported will be paid $0.07/kWh. If the feed-in tariff changes, we will give you at least 5 business days notice in writing before the change.

  • If the premises are located in New South Wales, we will pay $0.12/kWh of electricity generation exported for the first 4,000 kWh exported per year. Any additional solar exported will be paid $0.07/kWh.

  • If the premises are located in South Australia, we will pay $0.12/kWh of electricity generation exported for the first 4,000 kWh exported per year. Any additional solar exported will be paid $0.07/kWh.

  • If the premises are located in Queensland, we will pay $0.14/kWh of electricity generation exported for the first 4,000 kWh exported per year. Any additional solar exported will be paid $0.07/kWh.

  • 4. The Solar Plan Billing Requirements

The Solar Plan requires that you pay for the electricity you use monthly in advance on a Bill Smoothing arrangement. Your Bill Smoothing arrangement will be set in accordance with your contract with us.

  • 5. The Basic Solar Plan Billing Requirements

The Basic Solar Plan is billed in arrears. You will be issued a bill monthly for the energy that you have used, payment must be made by the due date on your bill.

The EV Plan & The Basic EV Plan

For customers with an electric vehicle

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy’s The EV Plan and The Basic EV Plan.

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

The EV Plan and The Basic EV Plan are available to you if you are a residential customer with an electric vehicle and a communicating smart meter.

You will be required to provide information about your electric vehicle. If you do not provide information or do not have an electric vehicle, OVO may terminate your Market Retail Contract.

If your Market Retail Contract is terminated because you are not eligible for The EV Plan or The Basic EV Plan you will be moved to our Standard Retail Contract.

The Super Off Peak and EV Charging Window periods apply to general usage only and excludes a controlled load.

  • 3. The EV Plan Billing Requirements

The EV Plan requires that you pay for the electricity you use monthly in advance on a Bill Smoothing arrangement using direct debit. The Bill Smoothing arrangement will be set in accordance with your contract with us.

The Free 3 Plan & The Basic Free 3 Plan

Free energy between 11am and 2pm everyday

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy’s The Free 3 Plan and The Basic Free 3 Plan.

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

The Free 3 Plan and The Basic Free 3 Plan are available to residential customers who have a communicating smart meter only.

If your Market Retail Contract is terminated because you are not eligible for The Free 3 Plan or The Basic Free 3 Plan you will be moved to our Standard Retail Contract.

The Super Off Peak period applies to general usage only and excludes a controlled load.

  • 3. The Free 3 Plan Billing Requirements

The Free 3 Plan requires that you pay for the electricity you use monthly in advance on a Bill Smoothing arrangement. Your Bill Smoothing arrangement will be set in accordance with your contract with us.

  • 4. The Basic Free 3 Plan Billing Requirements

The Basic Free 3 Plan is billed in arrears. You will be issued a bill monthly for the energy that you have used, payment must be made by the due date on your bill.

The Business Plan

The plan for small businesses

  • 1. Offer Terms

These terms (Special Terms) set out the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy’s The Business Plan.

Terms that are not defined in these Special Terms are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  • 2. Eligibility Requirements

The Business Plan is available via select third party channels to:

  • Business customers who are small customers;

  • Business customers with core operating hours of between 8am - 6pm daily; and,

  • Business customers on a Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) single rate or SME time of use network tariff (or if located in New South Wales or Queensland a demand network tariff only).

Controlled load tariffs are excluded.

If your Market Retail Contract is terminated because you are not eligible for The Business Plan you will be moved to our Standard Retail Contract.

  • 3. The Business Plan Billing Requirements

The Business Plan is billed in arrears. You will be issued a bill monthly for the energy that you have used, payment must be made by the due date on your bill.

  • 4. Solar Feed-in-Tariff

If your business premises are located in New South Wales, South Australia or Queensland we will pay $0.03/kWh for any electricity generation exported. If your business premises are located in Victoria we will pay $0.049/kWh for any electricity generation exported, if the feed-in tariff changes, we will give you at least 5 business days notice in writing before the change.
