If you refer someone to OVO, you’ll each get $120 credit applied over 12 months.

• 1. Offer Terms

  These are the terms and conditions applicable to OVO Energy's $120 (inclusive of GST) referral credit, applied in monthly instalments over 12 months (Refer a Friend Credit).

  Terms that are not defined in these Terms and Conditions are defined in OVO Energy's Market Retail Contract Terms and Conditions for small customers - available here.

  These terms apply to:

  An existing OVO Energy customer, who refers friends and family to OVO Energy (referring customer).

  A new customer, who follows the unique URL provided to them by the referring customer, in order to initiate a switch to OVO Energy (referred customer).

  There are no restrictions with regards to the number of referrals a referring customer can make.

• 2. Eligibility requirements

  To be eligible for the Refer a Friend Credit the referring customer:

  • (a) must be an existing OVO Energy customer on an OVO Energy contract;

  • (b) must refer new customers using the unique URL provided by OVO Energy (referral code);

  • (c) to receive the full $120 credit must continue their contract for their premises for at least 12 months from when OVO Energy start supplying energy to the referred customer’s premises (minimum contract period); and,

  • (d) the referred customer must also continue their contract for their premises for at least 12 months from when OVO Energy started supplying energy to their premises. If the referred customer leaves within 12 months, the referring customer will not receive any remaining monthly instalments of the $120 Refer a Friend Credit from the date when the referred customer’s energy supply with OVO Energy ends.

  To be eligible for the Refer a Friend Credit the referred customer:

  • (a) must sign up to an OVO Energy market plan for their premises.

  • (b) must use the unique URL (referral code) provided to them by the referring customer;

  • (c) must sign up the energy supply at their premises in New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria or Queensland;

  • (d) the contract must be their first energy market contract for their premises with OVO Energy; and

  • (e) to receive the full $120 credit they must continue their contract for their premises for at least 12 months from when OVO Energy started supplying energy to the premises (minimum contract period).

• 3. When will we pay you the Refer a Friend Credit?

  OVO Energy will pay the $120 credit (inclusive of GST) applied in twelve monthly instalments as an offset against the charges only on each monthly bill issued during the minimum contract period. The credit amount is a bill credit only and not available for refund or redeemable for cash.

  If the referred customer ends their contract before the end of the minimum contract period, the referring customer and referred customer will forfeit any remaining monthly instalments of the $120 Refer a Friend Credit balance from the date their energy supply with OVO Energy ends.

  If the referring customer ends their contract before the end of the minimum contract period, the referring customer only will forfeit any remaining monthly instalments of the $120 Refer a Friend Credit balance from the date their energy supply with OVO Energy ends.

  If either the referred customer or referring customer move premises and sign up their energy supply with OVO Energy for their new premises, any remaining monthly instalments of their $120 Refer a Friend Credit will be applied to their new OVO Energy account.

• 4. Offer exclusions

  The Refer a Friend Credit:

  • (a) is only valid on an OVO Energy Plan;

  • (b) can only be used to offset your charges on your OVO Energy account and cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash; and

  • (c) is not transferable to any other customer or to any other premises (unless stated in these terms).

  • (d) is not available in conjunction with any other credit offer, such as a Welcome Credit.

• 5. Variation or withdrawal of the Refer a Friend Credit

We may change or withdraw the terms applying to the Refer a Friend Credit by notice to you, in accordance with any applicable laws.
